Wednesday Wisdom for Writers and Those Who Love Them

"I hate writing, I love having written." —Dorothy Parker

Some days there's nothing more true. Other days? It's magical. Those are the days I live for. Still, it's a wonderful feeling when I'm finished.

It's all better with friends.

  1. True about so many things! You have a gift for picking bits of wisdom that apply universally. Love Dorothy's poetry, but somehow her sardonic outlook doesn't translate to fiction. Never enjoyed her short stories.

  2. The only things I can think of where I always love the process (the writing) but not always the outcome (having written) is when I'm either painting or taking photographs. For me there is little struggle in either. Of course, that might be why my end results are generally typical at best.
